THE TOUGHER GETS GOING

MSD…is what he stands for, the latest sensation and youth icon of India.Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Captain India, ODI and T20, has been nothing short of revelation in the recent time. He is the second cricketer only after Sachin Tendulkar in nearly a decade to be conferred Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award, the highest sporting honor of the country, what better can sum up his incredible run of success.

Born in a middle class family on July 7, 1981 in a small town of then undivided Bihar, he rose with the soaring dream of being a fighter and champion to the core of heart. He made his debut against Bangladesh in the year 2004 at Chittagong, and scored a naught in the match, ever since he has never seen back and powered his way as the backbone of Indian Cricket Team in all the three versions of the game.

With a lackluster show in World Cup 2007 in the Caribbean Island, MSD was criticized by and large from the media and cricket fans that even led to people barging in to his under construction house in Ranchi. But as the saying goes when going gets tough, the tougher gets going, he came and led India to one of its greatest conquests ever, the world T20 Championship in South Africa.

There have been many firsts with Dhoni leading the team, the T20 title, with the recent one being added, leading India to maiden ODI series win in Emerald Island after a staggering 25 years. He is the toast of the nation as well as the advertisers these days. Money has been pouring on him from left right up and down, but the way Mahi has been himself, truly justifies the qualities of real gentleman.

Challenges are more…. and some of them even tougher what he has faced till date, but as Mahi himself says Jeevan Mein Pyass Honi Chahiye (there ought to be quench for thirst in life in order to succeed).

Wish you all the best MSD.
