Stampede in Chamunda Devi Temple in Jodhpur, Rajasthan
The worshippers had gathered at the Chamunda Devi Temple situated on a hill top in the precincts of Mehrangarh Fort when the tragedy struck at around 5.30 am after some devotees slipped on a slope causing the stampede.
At least 103 people have died while 29 others, who were injured, were being treated in various hospitals, Rajasthan's Principal Secretary (Home) S N Thanvi said.
"As some devotees slipped on the slope on the temple path, others gathered there started falling on each other causing the stampede. A majority of those killed died due to suffocation as a result of the stampede," he said in Jaipur.
Director General of Police (DGP), Rajasthan, K S Bains, however, said that nearly 100 people were injured in the incident.
Officials said most of the dead were men as the stampede took place in the separate queue for males for going to the temple.
About 15 to 20 people were killed at the stop and the others succumbed to their injuries in Mahatma Gandhi Hospital, Mathura Das Hospital and Sun City Hospital, among others, in Jodhpur, they said.
The dead include a large number of young people, they said.
The devotees in large numbers, including women, had gathered at the temple from early on Tuesday morning on the occasion of Navaratri festival.

Now Gujarat on Target!
But the most alarming issue is that noe terrorists are from Indian Origin. One can stop outsiders but this would be difficuly to stop them who are from our society. This is a serious issuce where every body has to think.. from government to NGOs to social activits to social people like you and me! Punishment is not the only solution but need to change the mind frame.

Blast in South Delhi's Mehrauli Area in Phool Market
Delhi police claimed to crack the network of terrorists called Indian Mujaheddin. Now authorities will have to start their investigation from start.
But what about us? I like a dialog of Naseeruddin Shah in the film "The Wednesday" that My wife calls me in every hours to know weather I alive or not! We all are living in a terror. Why we not talk about these issues? Because we all are afraid. Every day we feel like going for a war. Don't know will we return back home safe or not.
We all want peace, peace & peace! God.. please do something!

INDIA SIGHT LIFE BEYOND CRICKET AFTER BEST EVER GAMES
Gold and two bronzes will hardly create a ripple on the medals tally, but it marked a giant leap forward for Olympic sports in a country that had eyes and ears only for the glamour boys of cricket. Rifle shooter Abhinav Bindra's victory in the 10m event, which won India its first ever individual Olympic gold medal, was hailed by the government and media as the country's greatest sporting achievement. Wrestler Sushil Kumar and boxer Vijender Kumar also won the hearts of millions - and promises of cash rewards on their return home - with their bronze medal winning feats.
The contrasting backgrounds of the three medal winners tell a story of fighting the odds and a steely determination to rise to the pinnacle. Bindra, 26, the son of a wealthy businessman in northern Chandigarh, chose to overcome the mediocrity in Indian sport when he had the easier option of a relaxed, privileged life.
Vijender, 22, whose father drives a state transport bus, trains at the now famous Bhiwani Boxing Club (BBC), a sun-scorched shed with tin roofs, worn-out rings and tattered gunny bags where hand pumps are used to draw water.
Sushil, 25, whose father works as a driver with India's state-run telephone company, took up wrestling at the age of 10 because that is what young boys in his village used to do.
Indian sportsperson are hoping the staging of the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi in 2010 will provide a fillip to Olympic sports in the country and bring it to par with cash-rich cricket.
THE TOUGHER GETS GOING
MSD…is what he stands for, the latest sensation and youth icon of India.Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Captain India, ODI and T20, has been nothing short of revelation in the recent time. He is the second cricketer only after Sachin Tendulkar in nearly a decade to be conferred Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award, the highest sporting honor of the country, what better can sum up his incredible run of success.
Born in a middle class family on July 7, 1981 in a small town of then undivided Bihar, he rose with the soaring dream of being a fighter and champion to the core of heart. He made his debut against Bangladesh in the year 2004 at Chittagong, and scored a naught in the match, ever since he has never seen back and powered his way as the backbone of Indian Cricket Team in all the three versions of the game.
With a lackluster show in World Cup 2007 in the Caribbean Island, MSD was criticized by and large from the media and cricket fans that even led to people barging in to his under construction house in Ranchi. But as the saying goes when going gets tough, the tougher gets going, he came and led India to one of its greatest conquests ever, the world T20 Championship in South Africa.
There have been many firsts with Dhoni leading the team, the T20 title, with the recent one being added, leading India to maiden ODI series win in Emerald Island after a staggering 25 years. He is the toast of the nation as well as the advertisers these days. Money has been pouring on him from left right up and down, but the way Mahi has been himself, truly justifies the qualities of real gentleman.
Challenges are more…. and some of them even tougher what he has faced till date, but as Mahi himself says Jeevan Mein Pyass Honi Chahiye (there ought to be quench for thirst in life in order to succeed).
Wish you all the best MSD.

India & Olympics - Game at Beijing
Carrying expectation of billion plus countrymen it is never easy to perform at such a big stage, you need to have nerves of steel. The man of the moment, Abhinav Bindra is the one who brought laurels to nearly a billion and given them a self belief that there are other games to look forward than the 22 yards involving 22 men. Bindra, with an immaculate shot of 10.8 in the final round of the 10 m air rifle Monday, bagged the first individual Olympic gold medal for India. In what is to be believed as one of the most thrilling and engaging finals in the history of the games, he surpassed Qinan Zhu (CHN) and Henri Hakkinen (FIN) who won Sliver and Bronze respectively.
This is a very positive sign for the days to come where in each and every sport needs to get a look in by the government. The cricket crazy nation should learn to respect the value of other sports. This win should be treated as a individual not where our politicians are ready to have their share in the pie. The euphoria will slowly and steadily settle down but what we should not forget is that this is the just the beginning and if we ever dream of hosting an Olympics in India we should have contestants to get the medals.
